Overview
In addition to having expertise in Air Quality and EHS management, EES has experience specific to issues found in the university setting. We assist Colleges and Universities with Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures Plans (SPCC), development of compliance systems, and Environmental Compliance audits (including self disclosure audits).
Project Experience
Below are some examples of projects completed for colleges and universities.
Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures Plans
Prepared or updated SPCC plans for multiple colleges and universities located in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This included:
- Conducting surveys of existing equipment to document current systems and identify issues
- Preparing the SPCC plan (development of spill scenarios, updating of site maps to include relevant tanks and storm drains, etc.)
- Providing recommendations for how to integrate the requirements into the college/university’s existing systems
- Providing recommendations for improving compliance
- PE certification of the Plans
EPA Self Disclosure Audits
Conducted EPA Self Disclosure audits for several colleges in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with regard to their air operating permits and SPCC plans. Provided findings and recommendations for effective regulatory compliance.
Compliance Systems
Worked with a university to develop compliance systems for chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) emission reductions and leak rate tracking and degreaser operations. This included the following:
- Identifying applicable requirements for each system
- Providing recommendations for how to integrate the requirements into the site’s existing systems.
